"Dreamer, a 2d pixel platform game based on the dreams of a little child who aims to get his country's flag on the planet he is on."
Sounds like a cute, relaxing platformer doesn't it? WRONG! This is actually a super meatboy re-skin. Saw-blades have been replaced with black holes and comets. How does reaching a flag have anything to do with getting his country's flag on a planet? This kid has some really weird dreams.
I kept on playing since I didn't know if there was a save thinking that all progress might be lost if I quit, foolishly thinking that there can't be much left after going through all this. When I reached the moving platforms it became too much.
Well.. this game isn't terrible. Level design isn't too bad, and as a rage game it certainly gets the job done. But there is no warning about the extreme difficulty. Why does it have to be so hard? I feel tricked thinking this would be a nice experience. And it seems there is no save; how much can you really make the player go through?

JuiceStudios responds:

I'm sorry about that, I hope I don't disappoint in the next game

What a wonderful collab.

It bugs me a bit that you sometimes need to wait for the bugs to turn around to get a good look at them, and the glass can also be in the way.

whimsical-wife responds:

Ohoho it bugs you..

Well, all in all it's pretty fun, simple. It did get quite boring after some time though.

Having to wait to shoot is not fun.
Some weird bug makes me teleport backwards when shooting sometimes.
It lags bad sometimes.

Generally I'm not a fan of game that require you to grind in order for you to beat them but in this game not that much grinding is required to unlock every tank. I don't know if there's a max level to the bonus energy and health.
I don't know if you're supposed to use a specific tactic to beat the boss. The first three times it just ran me over.. the next time I destroyed it in seconds.

You could add some powerups to pick up in the arena.
Some nice metal music would suit it very well.
What is the end goal? How do you really win? There isn't any hint of progression or completion, objectives or direction (in the game). Also I think there could be levels with specific challenges instead of a single room and upgrades significantly affect difficulty.
I understand if you did this in a rush and don't really have time to add or adjust things.

SubsolarGames responds:

thanks for your advice, i agree the energy mechanic is a bit annoying and the pathfinding the enemies use causes a quite a bit of lag.

despite it being very short the artwork is impressive. I'd like to see fullscreen mode (since it doesn't fit my screen.

Oxim responds:

I made a Full Screen opt in the version executable available in Itch.io because this function are disable in HTML version, so you can go to the Itch.io page to go play the game with more velocity of the player and full screen.
1 or 2 button to put window or fullscreen mode.

When the challenge is not a difficult gameplay manoeuvre or puzzle but an emotional one. Farewell great teapot

A great game besides breaking my heart. It's very nice to think, it's been a really long time since I did that. The style is very charming. It's very good but very hard (for me).

I spent days trying to complete every puzzle (not consecutive), and after that trying to do it again just to prove to myself I did. It's very addicting. (You could add medals so I could brag about it.)
I spent the longest on level 25, but once I discovered the trick it wasn't so hard.
Looks like it's very well set up for custom levels at some point.

Was there ever a tea-squad on newgrounds?

kr0tyara responds:

rest in peace teapot you will never be forgotten 😭😭😭

I wouldn't say no to a reading:
inverted strength; the sun; inverted tower (seems pretty accurate to my current situation in life)
Interesting collab

itsreddqueen responds:

Hang in there!

I think you should have more content than this before you submit to the portal. There's barely anything

TobyTheGoober responds:

Just tryin' to show everyone what I've been workin' on

no lives, no challenge, it doesn't work in fullscreen, it gets boring quickly, graphics are bad; but at least you get to kill Putin

evilgrandpa responds:

Thanks for the comment! In a response to that, update 1.1 adds Obama, who, if you crush him, removes 20 score, and moved the graphics up so fullscreen can work better! Again, if not for your comment, I would probably not have fixed it, so, thanks!

Edit: By the way, it's kind of supposed to look crappy, so the bad graphics and screen stretching is intentional.

Hairbrained.
Why did you include such a sadistic medal? You can sort of work out a pattern for what he does, but then there's roaches, and events that happen very rarely so you don't know exactly how they work, and sometimes his pattern seems completely random and it's unpredictable what he's going to do. I've made a habit of clearing out all the tomb stones so they don't obstruct the vision of roaches.. that still hide behind the environment and then are impossible to see. I did get really close. I did defeat Sherbert (also you made me fight a cat which made cat sounds ;_;) But then I momentarily forgot the pattern that the skull does, so I ended up in a position in which I had to dodge two fire-balls which, you guessed it, resulted in me getting hit once. It's bullshit. What were you thinking? Otherwise the game is good. I will definitely have nightmares about this medal

BoMToons responds:

Git gud :-D

I write things that people don't like to read
